TP Toys Children’s Sandpits: Why go to the beach when you can have all the fun in your garden?

What does the word “sandpit” mean to you? What images does it conjure up? That’s right – thinking, coming up with great ideas and learning. So if it’s good enough to be used as a metaphor, how great must it be for your children to have a real one?

When you look at your children playing video games, what are they learning about the world? What lessons are they being taught? Not a lot! Just think how much more they’d get from five minutes in a sandpit: the tactile, real-life feeling of sand, the boost to their imagination and creativity of being able to create (and destroy!) their own worlds, and the relaxation of being outside, in control of things and not having to shoot aliens every couple of seconds. Instead they’re imagining (and making) magic castles, snowy mountains and mighty rivers of their own. Imagine trying to get your little one to eat dinner or get ready for bed after two hours on a video console – it isn’t going to happen! But after two hours outside playing in their own sandpit? That’s one healthy and happy child you have there.

And the great thing about sand is, once you’re finished you just brush it off. No more trailing mud into the home and no more carpet shampoo!
