Why are the drilled holes in some rungs in the wrong position to align with the holes in the connectacaps?
The hole centre positions can differ by upto 2mm so the connectacap is designed with an internal grove to accommodate this. When the hole is furthest from the end of the rung, the connectacap will require a sharp tap to drive it fully home. We recommend tapping it against a solid surface such as a floor. Sometimes the fit can be quite tight so several taps may be required.
What does rust causing failure mean?
The guarantee covers failure due to rust which is defined as a perforation or breakage of the steel tubing. Nuts, bolts and fittings are not covered by the lifetime guarantee. The guarantee is not a cover against surface rust for which maintenance instructions are included with the product. We advise that should surface rust appear it should be rubbed down with course sandpaper or wire wool and retouched with a non toxic galvanised paint suitable for outdoor use.
Is the frame shrinkable?
No, the frame is sold as a growable item. When the extension legs are added they will naturally bond together over time making removal of extension legs difficult and sometimes impossible. So when frame has been at full height for a few years, it may not be possible to take back the frame back to its toddler height format.
Can you put a swing seat on this frame?
No, you cannot attach a swing seat but you can attach a Twizzler2.
How do you secure the Challenger with the hook stakes provided?
At the base of each leg of the Challenger there are two holes which face each other, one is dimpled , one is not. Place your stake into the hole which is not dimpled , then lever the stake upwards so that it moves down inside the leg tube. Push it down hard to achieve contact with the ground. Do not worry if this slightly distorts the hole in the Challenger leg. It will not affect the structural integrity of the frame. Repeat this process around the rest of the frame and your Challenger will then be secured.
How long are the platform and den guaranteed for?
The den and the platform are both covered by a one year guarantee.
Is it ok for me to put the slide on any side of the platform?
Yes, the slide can be positioned on any side of the higher platform but you may need to remove the rung above to make it easier for older children to access the slide.
Can I wash the Challenger den?
Yes,the den can be machine washed at 30°.
Is it possible to attach a TP slide to a home made wooden platform?
This is possible to do but there is a maximum height of platform for both the CrazyWavy and the Rapide slide. The platform height for the Rapide slide is no more than 4’11” approx and the platform height for the CrazyWavy should be no more than 3’8” approx.
Do the stakes that come with the Eagle Swing Set have to be concreted in place?
All stakes that come with our swing sets must be concreted . This is to comply with Toy Safety Regulations.
