Stay Active at Home

Having an active childhood is imperative. But sometimes it can be a little tricky to keep things inventive and exciting when it comes to staying fit… and no child is going to want to go on a 5k run.

Fitness has so many benefits for both you and your child, helping you both to burn off some much-needed energy and keeping you both mentally alert. Keeping them active in the day will lead to a well-deserved good night’s sleep for the whole family.

We have done the thinking for you on 5 easy ways for you to keep the whole family fit in the comfort of your own home – the key is to keep it fun and in disguise, so they won’t even notice

1. Aint No Party Like An S-Club Party!

Dancing the tango, could Mum and Daughter please take to the floor?" Strictly Come Dancing has a lot to answer for - children and adults alike adore the reality show and love the idea of taking to the floor themselves. So, pop your dancing gear on and head… straight to the front room. Make your own scoreboards and costumes if you’re feeling inventive and dance the night away!

Dance Pro Centre notes that regular dancing can increase children’s flexibility, range of motion, physical strength and stamina.

2. Turn your front room into the centre of Zen

It is thought 300 million people practise yoga worldwide, so could your little one become the master of zen? You don’t need a teacher for this one, YouTube has an enormous library of themed yoga practises for you and your young ones to follow, Cosmic Kids Yoga channel has over 110 million views, so get your mats out and get stretching.

Yoga can have huge benefits for children. Physically it enhances flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness and mentally it improves their concentration and sense of calmness, aiding their ability to relax.

3. Get out in the garden!

Children love to be out in the fresh air running around, and we don’t blame them. Investing in some play equipment for the garden can be a great way to keep your little ones busy and their imaginations running wild.

The TP Infinity Octagonal Trampoline is a great investment for your garden. A TP Classic reinvented, packed with great patent protected design features and a YOYO system which allows you to take it down in less than one minute!

This year is the launch of our Compact range, research has shown that the modern garden is getting smaller. So, we developed a range that is compact in size yet still packed full of fun. Why not have a look at the Ahoy Wooden Play Boat, perfect for imaginative play, featuring sand and water play and craft activities, and you can pop it away at the end of the day!

Or why not go crazy and get a climbing frame, it’ll be like have a playground right in your back garden! Our climbing frames are built to grow with your little ones, add monkey bars or a slide as they get older. Whatever the size of your garden, we’ve got you covered.

4. PE Lessons with The Body Coach #PEwithJOE

The household name The Body Coach, or Joe Wicks, is going to be hosting PE lessons Monday-Friday to ensure your little one can get their heart rate rising. This fitness and health guru knows everything there is to know about keeping little ones fit, and he is doing this all for free! Make sure your little ones have their PE kits on for 9am for them to join him LIVE on his YouTube Channel

5.Plan your day

So, not quite a physical exercise but more of a mental one. Putting in place a plan to your day will lead to higher levels of productivity and you won’t find yourself at a loss for what to do.

Jotting down a plan of what you want to achieve in your day with provide your little ones with a structure, so they will know what to expect, making things a lot more manageable for you!
