• Safety: Compared to plastic toys that can easily break off into small parts, wood toys are usually a safer alternative. Not only can plastic toys be a choking hazard, but many are made from BPA and lead, which can be harmful to little ones.

• Open-ended play: Many modern toys unintentionally take the creativity out of play. They often include set plot lines, missions and instructions. Whilst this can seem harmless, it actually limits the need for imagination. How durable are your wood toys?

All of our wood toys are made from FSC-certified timber. Making toys for children has made us aware of the planet kids are growing up in, so we choose materials that are sustainable and responsibly sourced.

How should I clean wood toys?

Wood is naturally antimicrobial, so it harbours fewer germs than plastic. However, you should still clean your child’s wooden toy now and then, especially if they have food on them, if your child is teething or if your child has recently been ill. To clean your child’s wooden toy, use a cloth and some soapy water to give them a little wipe.

How many toys should my child have?

The guidance varies depending on what developmental stage your child is at. Kids that aren’t mobile should have around 4 toys in their immediate surroundings and kids that are moving around should have around 8 toys. The most important thing is to not overwhelm your kid’s play space with too many toys, as this can lead to toy boredom.
