TP's Active Tots range includes two bouncing products for young children: the Junior Trampoline (from 12 months, standing spring-based bouncing) and the Active Tots Toddler Bouncer (from 12 months, seated fabric-seat bouncing). They both provide vestibular stimulation and are both made from quality FSC-certified materials, but they are functionally different products serving different needs and different children. This comparison helps families choose the right one — or understand when both are worth having.

What is the difference between the TP Toys bouncer and the baby bouncer?
The TP Junior Trampoline is a standing spring-based bouncer: the child stands on the mat and uses spring resistance to bounce, supported by a handlebar. It provides vigorous, active bouncing that develops gross motor skills and vestibular function at a higher intensity. The Active Tots Toddler Bouncer is a seated fabric-seat bouncer: the child sits in the seat, which moves in response to body weight shifts and intentional bouncing movements. It provides calmer, gentler vestibular input in a more contained, secure position. Both are from 12 months; they are not competing products but complementary ones.

Which is right for my child?
· Choose the Junior Trampoline if: your child is energetic and movement-seeking; you want a product that will be used vigorously and frequently; you want indoor/outdoor flexibility; or you are looking for the best enjoyment-to-price ratio in the range
· Choose the Toddler Bouncer if: your child is younger or more sensory-sensitive; you prefer a calmer, more Montessori-aesthetic wooden product; or you want the gentlest possible bouncing experience appropriate for a very young toddler
· Consider both if: your child would benefit from the vigorous activity of the trampoline on active days and the calming regulation of the gentle bouncer on high-sensory or tired days — they serve genuinely different regulatory functions
Can a child use both products?
Yes — and many families find that having both serves different moments in a child's day. The Junior Trampoline is ideal for high-energy morning play and after-nap activity; the Toddler Bouncer is ideal as a calming tool before nap time, at quiet moments or when the child needs sensory regulation rather than vigorous stimulation. They are not redundant purchases — they occupy different positions in the sensory and activity regulation spectrum.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Toddler Bouncer the same as a doorframe bouncer?
No — the Active Tots Toddler Bouncer is a freestanding wooden frame product with a fabric seat; it is completely different from a doorframe bouncer (which suspends a baby from a door frame via elastic cords). The Toddler Bouncer is appropriate from 12 months; doorframe bouncers are typically used from around 4-6 months when babies can hold their head up but are not yet walking. The Toddler Bouncer is used in a sitting position by a toddler who controls their own movement.
Does the Junior Trampoline replace the need for a full-size trampoline later?
No — the Junior Trampoline (50kg max, 86cm x 86cm) is a toddler-specific product that children will outgrow physically and developmentally around age 5-6. The transition to a full-size enclosed trampoline (6ft minimum, appropriate from age 6 per RoSPA guidance) is the natural next step when the child is ready. The Junior Trampoline is a starter product, not a permanent solution.
